After two days of classes in college I have only one tip of advice for any potential college students, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR 8AM CLASSES. Honestly for the past few years I have considered my self a “morning person,” so when I got my schedule I thought having an 8am class everyday wouldn’t be bad at all, unfortunately I was greatly mistaken. So far my solution for having energy for my 8am classes is running 2-3 miles before class. Although I have created somewhat of a paradoxical situation here, for me to gain energy I have to lose a large amount of energy, but the laws of thermodynamics do not apply to the human mind. Before my first day of classes I ran 3 miles at 6am, had breakfast, took a shower and read for 40 minutes before class and although I only got 6 hours of sleep that night it may have been one of my best days ever from a mental standpoint. I had 4 classes and I was able to stay awake without any trouble what so ever and each one of my professors had my full attention. Fast forward to today when I didn’t run, I had one class today at 8am and when I’m writing this post at 11:44 am I am still very tired although I took a two hour nap when i got back from class at 9:20am. I do have an excuse for not running today though because I hurt my ankle playing Walleyball (great game by the way) last night but I wish I could have run this morning. Hopefully my ankle will feel better because I’m going to need some energy again tomorrow when I have 4 classes again. Other than my morning energy problems at school Virginia Tech is great so far, I get a 50% discount at Chick-fil-A.
