Well thanks to good old CYA, my community league sports organization, I have missed half of the Senior Babe Ruth baseball season. Apparently (after some email conversations with the people in charge) I was drafted onto a team but I honestly don’t believe this. Anyways I have finally found a team, the “Nationals.” CYA doesn’t really want to deal with the whole refund idea so I will also be filling in for other teams to make up for the games I missed. Starting tomorrow I will be playing a lot of double headers. Honestly I don’t mind this, I simply just want to play some baseball and get my one homerun.

Move in day for Virginia Tech is August 19th and with a few trips I have planned before hand working this summer doesn’t make much sense. Lucky for me I may have already scored an internship for next summer but I won’t say it’s official well until it’s actually official. Anyways for this summer I have some plans to keep myself busy, in bullet form.
- Eat Healthy. Easier said than done but I have already started my own grocery shopping and plan not to eat out much.
- Work out three times a week. I have a gym membership that needs to be used and I have a body that needs working out, match made in heaven?
- Run twice a week. I have this great path by my house which takes me to my old middle school equipped with some fun hills, total distance to and from is 4 miles. I used to run this path and I am looking forward to starting this back again.
- Play tennis. Real tennis not wii tennis, I have already mastered that (undefeated champion of the world).
- Watch more Baseball. I already watch a lot of baseball but by this I mean watching more games live at Camden Yards.
- Hit a Homerun. I’m playing Senior Babe Ruth baseball this summer and this is my last chance to hit my first career homerun in an organized CYA game.
- Read. 10 books minimum.
- Update my blog. Hopefully I’m doing these other things before focusing on my blog.
Beyond your awesomeness on the internet, thanks for keeping criminals off the streets.
With College just around the corner I plan to enjoy this summer and there couldn’t have been a better start then going to an Orioles baseball game. Now the Orioles aren’t my favorite team, the Dodgers hold that place in my heart, but watching any professional baseball game is always fun. Driving to Baltimore with a bunch of friends to enjoy a night game, getting a free bobble-head because of “Adam Jones” bobble-head night and witnessing college sensation Matt Wieters hit his first Major League career home-run is always fun. Hopefully I will be able to attend more Orioles games this summer especially when they play good games like last night beating the Mets 6-4.
Have you ever been in a place or moment where someone stopped you and questioned “are you sure your enjoying this?” Well that happened at my high school graduation the other day. I answered kindly “of course!” but in all honesty I wasn’t. Not because of the long ceremony or the fact that I would be losing a lot of good friends to higher education but the fact that I didn’t want high school to be important. Not to be arrogant but when I graduated high school I didn’t want that to feel all to important. Young Adults were celebrating wildly but I don’t want to celebrate this, sure high school was big but it was just another graduation. High school hasn’t prepared me for the real world yet in fact the only difference was at the end of my fourth school I had a nice ceremony in the Patriot Center. All high school has prepared me for is College and I’m saving my celebration for the end of that. In the most none cliche way, I want to achieve bigger and better things in life, hopefully graduating high school will be pushed to the back of a long list of goals I wish to achieve.
On to Virginia Tech…
It has been 1,434 days since, possibly my favorite artist (did I really say that?), Sufjan Stevens released a full album since “Illinois.”I have no idea what you’re up to friend but I hope you release an album soon.
