Calling all facebook users there is a new layout on the horizon. You can check it out now by going to http://www.new.facebook.com/home.php . Personally I like the new facebook layout and here is why. Before when I would visit a friends page some would have upto 40+ applications. The old design put all of these applications on the same page and it really hurt on load time when all I wanted to do was go to the persons photos or wall. This new layout is less cluttered and easier to access basic information. I could go on explaining all the new futures but I’ll let you check it out for yourself.

As shown from an earlier post I am a big burger enthusiast but I forgot to include what complements that delicious sandwich, root beer. If your in the NOVA area there are a couple places to get some good root beer.
- Sweet Water Tavern root beer, theirs is eaisly my favorite. These guys brew it fresh in house and brew it right. A little while back they charged for re-fills but now you can get free re-fills. So when you venture out to the restaurant to get that great burger make sure to order it with their specialty root beer.
- Old Dominion root beer, their main trademark is it is made with real honey. You can pick up Old Dominion root beer at any local grocery store. Old Dominion is my favorite store bought root beer for its simple great taste.
- IBC root beer, this root beer is also sold at grocery stores but is more common through out the United States than Old Dominion. To me it’s not as great as #1 and #2 but IBC still has a solid taste that is worth the number 3 spot.
Some may be wondering where is Coca Cola’s famous Barq’s root beer on this list? Well root beer shouldn’t have added artificial caffeine in it and every can of Barq’s root beer has 23 mgs of America’s #1 addiction. Also I didn’t include it cause I don’t drink caffeinated drinks. I could go on listing other root beers like Stewarts and etc. but I like keeping the list simple and limited to three. Maybe later I can upgrade to the notorious High Fidelty top five list.
edit: after trying a multitude of other root beers this list is going to change soon and will possibly even change to a top 10. Although it is hard to list just 10 because I have only tried what is sold in Northern Virginia. But Sweetwater won’t be removed from #1 anytime soon, it is one of the best mircobrewed root beers out there.
For three days every year the mortal world gets to experience a little bit of heaven in the form of the music festival Lollapalooza. One day I will be able to attend this magnificent event but since I’m 17, low on cash and with parents who would never let me travel to Chicago for three days I will not be in attendance this year. Hopefully in the near future I will go on the pilgrimage to music mecca but for now it’s just the usual rocking out in the car to the bands who are playing at Lollapalooza 2008.
The Black Keys, The Raconteurs, Bloc Party, Radiohead, Noah and the Whale, The Ting Tings, Explosions in the Sky, Broken Social Scene, Wilco, MGMT, Iron & Wine, Girl Talk, just to name a few.
While I was casually surfing the internet on my longboard keyboard and I stumbled upon a great feature on www.nytimes.com . While reading an article on their site if you highlight a word then double click on it a new window appers which shows the definition of the word. As our friends from the Guinness commercials would say “Brilliant!” Usually I find myself constantly taking the time to go to a different website trying to find the definition of certain words. Don’t worry folks this great feature is now in the form of a installable app for firefox, http://www.answers.com/main/firefox_plugins.jsp . This is eaisly one of my favorite firefox add-ons. If you don’t have firefox your a fool unless you absolutly love the feeling of being unsafe on the internet and getting viruses with IE.
Note: this feature does not work on the nytimes home page, you must go to a individual article to utilize it.
