So you see that long haired guy throwing a pink disc in that banner up there? Well that long hair doesn’t exist anymore. Actually it has been gone for a while but it’s still kind of neat seeing photos of how different I looked before.

Thanks to my college roommate who enjoys playing Taylor Swift songs while he is working I now know the majority of the lyrics to her most popular songs. Normally this embarrassing knowledge hasn’t been a problem until now. While I was shopping at Models today for basketball shorts, Taylor Swift’s hit song “Teardrops On My Guitar” started playing. Apparently while I was going through one of the clearance racks I was singing the song loud enough that the person restocking one of the table of shirts across from me could hear me. I didn’t realized I was singing the song until I noticed that she stopped working and was awkwardly staring at me. I suppose she liked the song so I simply continued humming the rest of the song.

Howdy readers,
I have finally fixed my gallery, unfortunately no photos are up right now. After about a month of trying to fix my blog I finally got the gallery to work but it won’t load my old photos. Nevertheless it’s back and most importnatly I’m back. Except finals are coming back so I’ll write more later!

Today I decided to wear my Sufjan Stevens “Come On! Feel The Illinoise!” t-shirt around campus. Back home I can count all of the Sufjan Stevens fans I know on one hand with three fingers chopped off (meaning two?). While at tech I can count all the Sufjan fans on a perfectly unaltered hand (meaning five?). With a college campus of about 23,000 there must exist other Sufjan fans because while in high school I was one of two fans among the 3,000. Today I found out my theory held true and I was stopped by 4 random people today commenting on my t-shirt. Three of them knew who Sufjan was while the fourth thought I was from Illinois and simply thought my shirt was really cool. Unfortunately I was late to class each time someone stopped me so I was unable to befriend them. Oh well, there will come another day when I will wear that shirt around campus, hopefully I will get the same reaction again.

Dear Virginia Tech Football,
Thank you for making my first ever Virgina Tech football game absolutely amazing. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect ending; down 5 points against #19 ranked Nebraska, our defense prevents them from getting a game ending first down, 1:44 left on the game clock, , starting from our 17 yard line, no timeouts left, one broken play turns into a 80 yard completion and soon after another broken play turns into the game winning touchdown.

Today I was working on my 1000-1200 word English paper, upon completion I noticed that I had written 1113 words. I quickly changed my last paragraph so the paper was 1111 words. If this doesn’t make my paper more epic I don’t know what else will. MLIA.
This is my crude attempt at making a “My Life is Average” post. Recently one of my friends has revealed this website to me and ever since I have been hooked on reading it. [MLIA]

Good News: I won a ticket to the first home football game against Marshall
Bad News: I can’t find anyone to go with.
Freshman at Virginia Tech are not eligible for football season tickets but there are enough for a good portion of freshman to attend some games. Everyweek Virginia Tech holds a lottery where a lucky student can win a ticket to the upcoming game. How it works is once a student wins a ticket they must redeem it at the ticket office. If multiple freshman win tickets and wish to sit together they must redeem their tickets at the same time. If students don’t redeem their ticket those are then redistributed. I won “round 2″ which means there are very few students who actually won this decreasing the chances of me knowing someone I can go to the game with. I’ll probably just sneak over where a bunch of my friends are sitting since it’s bleacher style , hopefully this works out.

After two days of classes in college I have only one tip of advice for any potential college students, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR 8AM CLASSES. Honestly for the past few years I have considered my self a “morning person,” so when I got my schedule I thought having an 8am class everyday wouldn’t be bad at all, unfortunately I was greatly mistaken. So far my solution for having energy for my 8am classes is running 2-3 miles before class. Although I have created somewhat of a paradoxical situation here, for me to gain energy I have to lose a large amount of energy, but the laws of thermodynamics do not apply to the human mind. Before my first day of classes I ran 3 miles at 6am, had breakfast, took a shower and read for 40 minutes before class and although I only got 6 hours of sleep that night it may have been one of my best days ever from a mental standpoint. I had 4 classes and I was able to stay awake without any trouble what so ever and each one of my professors had my full attention. Fast forward to today when I didn’t run, I had one class today at 8am and when I’m writing this post at 11:44 am I am still very tired although I took a two hour nap when i got back from class at 9:20am. I do have an excuse for not running today though because I hurt my ankle playing Walleyball (great game by the way) last night but I wish I could have run this morning. Hopefully my ankle will feel better because I’m going to need some energy again tomorrow when I have 4 classes again. Other than my morning energy problems at school Virginia Tech is great so far, I get a 50% discount at Chick-fil-A.
